I Got Fucking Shanked
Basically what happened was I thought I made a lot of money ($4,000) when I didn’t and it was actually the companies fault as far as I can tell for not updating a scraper that pulled stats from Ladbrokes. I spent most of last night thoroughly enraged, but I will move on and let it go today. You can see the full post here, along with the responses that followed. One of my friends pointed out that they never really answered what happened, interesting. Regardless problems that come up like this show the effectiveness of any operation and multiple problems are never a good sign. It has always amazed me how the poker affiliate industry is so forgiving compared to offline business, these kind of things would not fly over and over in the face to face business world and I hope they know that. Have a wicked weekend and don’t get shanked like I did. If you are using the PAW Network, do not believe your stats even for ONE second until they have been hand audited by one of the team, because you will never know whether they are accurate or not……I know, it’s brutal.

Just wanted to write a quick news bulletin that my friend Brandon Berndt has finally started his own blog after 1 year of procrastination and utter laziness. For those of you that don’t know, Brandon is the director of Chan Poker and is thought of as one of the best affiliate and poker room managers in the industry. The blog is a mix of both personal and business stories and gives both affiliates and affiliate managers a good look at how to do things properly and develop your image within the industry. Anyways just thought you all should know, check it out when you get a chance!

While it seems that I have done a good job at neglecting this blog for quite a while and to be honest there has been lots of things going on so I don’t feel that bad about it :) That being said, I would like to get back into the swing of things so I am going to focus on posting more again now that I have more time to spare. Summer is a hard time to work, it’s nice outside, there are beautiful women everywhere and the last thing you want to do is sit around and write articles for hours. This has been a battle I have been fighting since the good weather started to roll in and despite the toughness of getting down to business while it’s nice outside, it is pretty important to lay the foundations and/or increase your business for the winter months. Because of this, I thought I would write a short list on ways to change your work habits to adjust for a summer time schedule, here they are:
Best Ways To Work During The Summer
- Wireless internet is priority ONE! Start working outside in your backyard, porch, or wherever. This will allow you to enjoy the weather while doing the work you need to to ensure that you are balling by skiing season.
- Work remotely - I have taken up going to Starbucks most days to work, this is beneficial for a few key reasons including the large amount of hot women that go to Starbucks, an unlimited supply of coffee and lastly, the large amount of hot women that go to Starbucks (did I already say that?)
- Consider changing your work schedule to night or later in the day, this way you can enjoy the nice weather and be active during the daytime.
- Take a working vacation, camp out on a beach somewhere and do spurts of work while enjoying a semi-holiday. Summertime is a great time to head south, because prices are cheaper than European destinations.
So there you have it, my recommendations for enjoying your summer while still working towards your business goals for the year. Good luck and remember, winter is coming, enjoy the weather while you have it.
* To all you lucky bastards who don’t have winter, I envy you.
